Iranian government’s two-year budget proposal for 2020-22 is in contradiction to the constitution, Parliament Speaker said.
"Reforming the structure is a necessary step. Planning and Budget Organization must have a plan which will be supported by the parliament," Ali Larijani said at a press conference on Dec.1 referring to reforms of the country's economic structure and the parliament's role, Trend reports citing IRIB.
"It was proposed to have a two-year budget plan that is not in line with the constitution,” said the speaker referring to the proposals put forward by the Plan and Budget Organization (PBO).
The Iranian government is to submit its two-year budget proposal for 2020-22 (year starting March 21) to Iranian Parliament on December 6, Head of PBO Mohammad Bagher Nobakht said.
According to Nobakht, the government’s two-year budget does not include the country’s oil revenues.
