Development Financial Institution partly owned by the French Development Agency (FAD) Proparco, provided a loan of $15 million to Uzbekistan’s Hamkorbank, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
Proparco supports private sector of Uzbekistan, in particular, its small and medium-sized enterprises.
Hamkorbank pays great attention to supporting private companies. In its strategy, the bank, in particular, pays special attention to the financing of microenterprises, small and medium enterprises. Due to its widespread network in the country, the bank also plays an important role in supporting the agricultural sector.
The loan will help the bank fulfill its important role in the economy of Uzbekistan and will provide support to a market participant known for his responsible environmental and social practices.
The first Proparco operation in Uzbekistan is fully consistent with its commitment to financing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in developing countries and countries with developing economies.
It is expected that in the coming years, the Proparco - Uzbekistan cooperation in achieving the goals in the field of sustainable development will create directly more than 4000 jobs in the country.
