Import Price Index decreases in Georgia

The Import Price Index (MPI) decreased by 0.7 percent in Georgia in November compared to October 2019, while compared to November 2018 the MPI increased by 8.4 percent, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

Compared to November 2018, the prices were 7.7 percent higher for manufactured products, while for products from mining and quarrying a price increase of 15.8 percent was registered. With regard to electrical energy, gas, steam and hot water, the prices were 8.7 percent lower.

The Export Price Index (XPI) increased by one percent in November 2019 compared to October 2019.

There was a 1.2 percent increase in the prices for manufactured products.

Compared to November 2018, the XPI increased by 9.6 percent. In the mentioned period prices increased for manufactured products by 6.7 percent and for products from mining and quarrying by 30.7 percent.

In November 2019, the Domestic Producer Price Index for Industrial Products (DPPI) increased by 0.4 percent compared to October 2019. The prices went up for manufactured products by 0.3 percent and for electrical energy, gas, stream and hot water by 1.6 percent.

Compared to November 2018, DPPI increased by 8.1 percent. There was an increase in the prices for manufactured products (9.5 percent), electrical energy, gas, stream and hot water (3.1 percent), and products from mining and quarrying (2.7 percent).
