Over 16,000 tons of shrimps are expected to be grown a year in Iran's southern Bushehr province for export, Executive Director of the Iranian Agricultural Parks Company Ali Ashraf Mansouri said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.

Mansouri made the remarks while reviewing, together with Governor of Bushehr province Abdul Karim Grawend and Director of the Bushehr Agriculture Organization Mohammad Taghi Manouchehri, the construction processes of a greenhouse in Kaki city and a shrimp breeding facility in Rudshur village in the province.

“The commissioning of the facilities will have a positive impact on the economy of Bushehr province and Iran on the whole,” the executive director said adding that over $50 million is expected to be received a year as a result of shrimp export.

"The private companies will invest more than 6 trillion (about $142 million) in the construction of the facilities," he noted.

The Rudshur shrimp breeding facility is located in Ganaveh county of Bushehr province.
