Iran discloses amount of extracted mining materials in Ilam province

The amount of mining materials extracted in Iran's Ilam province reached 2.2 million tons in the current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019), so far, an official with Ilam Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Nabi Samavati said, Trend reports via IRNA.

Currently, there are 74 mines in Ilam province and 53 of them are operational at the moment, Nabi Samavati said.

The official added that 14 types of mining materials, including bitumen, gypsum, lime, meringue, calcite and marble, are extracted in the province.

Four licenses have been issued in the current year for extracting 233,000 tons of mining materials and thus 39 more people got employed in the province's mining sector, Samavati said.

The official noted that 64.9 million rials (roughly $1.5 million) have been invested in the mines, that have already been commissioned.

Commissioning mines in Ilam province will have positive impact on economic development and raw material supplies of industrial enterprises of Iran, the official concluded.
