Georgia’s external trade turnover amounted to $882.4 million in January 2020, which is an increase of 5.7 percent compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
The value of exports increased by 10 percent and reached $262.6 million, while imports increased by 3.9 percent, amounting to $619.7 million.
Georgia’s external trade turnover amounted to $12.83 billion in 2019, which is an increase of 2.7 percent compared to 2018 year.
In 2019, the share of the top ten trading partners in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 73.3 percent. The top partners were Azerbaijan ($498.7 million) and Russia ($497.1 million).
Last year, the share of the top ten trading partners in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 65.8 percent. The top partners were Turkey ($1.6 billion), Russia ($975.9 million) and China ($858.7 million).
In 2019, the share of the top ten trading partners in the total external trade turnover of Georgia amounted to 66.9 percent. The top trading partners also were Turkey ($1.8 billion), Russia ($1.4 billion) and China ($1.08 billion).
