Exports of Iran's Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari province down

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 26

By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

Exports of Iran's Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province have decreased in the current Iranian year (began on March 21, 2019), Chairman of the province's Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Sajjad Rustami said, Trend reports with reference to the organization's web portal.

So far, this Iranian year, the total monetary value of the exports of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province amounted to $40 million, though this figure was expected to be $50 million, Rustami said.

The monetary value of the province's exports reached $80 million in the previous Iranian year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019), Rustami said.

Some reasons of the decrease are related to the obligations regarding the return of foreign currency to the country, restrictions on international transportation, and the high fees imposed by importing countries, the chairman noted.

The province's main exports included cement, almonds, fish feed and household items, Rustami added.

The chairman noted that the main export destinations of the province's goods were Iraq and Afghanistan.

Currently, there about 1,270 manufacturing and industrial facilities operating in the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province.
