Iran reveals planned funds for construction in West Azerbaijan province

Over $434 million is expected to be assigned for construction projects in West Azerbaijan Province, Head of the Management and Planning Organization of West Azerbaijan Nasser Hazrati said, Trend reports via IRNA.

“In the next year's (begins on March 21, 2020) budget bill, the budget of West Azerbaijan Province is 19 percent higher than in the current year (ends on March 21),” Hazrati said at a provincial meeting.

Meanwhile, Director General of Tax Affairs of West Azerbaijan Hassan Koumasi said that 96 percent of the projected tax in the province in the first six months of this year (started on March 21, 2019) has been collected.

“Tax collections have increased by 43 percent compared to same period last year, including 62 percent in direct taxes and 38 percent in value added tax,” Koumasi said.

Referring to the non-realization of $10 million of provincial tax revenues, he says that in cooperation with the judiciary and law enforcement agencies some of the arrears and demands will be collected soon.

Next year's budget bill is under review in Iranian Parliament.

As many as 1.1 million tons of various products worth $1.6 billion were exported via border markets and customs of Iran’s West Azerbaijan province for ten months of this Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 through Jan. 20, 2020), according to Gholamreza Babaei, chairman of the West Azerbaijan Province Industry, Mine and Trade Organization, Trend reported earlier.

Babaei noted that the products were exported to neighboring countries in Asia and Europe, adding that 595,000 tons of products worth $888 million were exported via border markets, while 526,000 tons of products worth $712 million were exported via customs of the province.
