Diesel, petrol prices increase in Kazakhstan

Prices of foods items in Kazakhstan increased by 3.6 percent in March 2020 compared to December 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

In turn, non-food items and paid services increased in price by 1.4 percent each.

Thus, increase of prices during the reporting period was observed on vegetables by 21.1 percent, granulated sugar by 6.7 percent, cereals by 4.8 percent, butter by 4 percent, fruit by 3.9 percent, noodles by 3.3 percent, flour by 3.1 percent.

Prices of pasteurized milk increased by 2.5 percent, cottage cheese by 2.4 percent, dairy products by 2.2 percent, hard-curd cheese by 2.1 percent, tea by 1.7 percent, bakery and flour products by 1.5 percent.

Prices of lamb increased by 3.4 percent, horsemeat by 3.1 percent, frozen fish and beef by 2.9 percent each, meat products by 2.7 percent, sausages by 2.2 percent, pork by 1.6 percent.

Tobacco products increased in price by 4 percent, mineral and drinking water by 2.3 percent, cold drinks by 1.5 percent. Decrease of prices was observed on rice by 2.4 percent, and on eggs by 0.4 percent.

Diesel prices increased by 5.5 percent, diesel fuel by 0.2 percent, whereas coal decreased in price by 0.3 percent.

Prices of healthcare services increased by 1.5 percent, internet access fee by 1.2 percent.

Fees for travel via railway passenger transport increased by 5.2 percent, via intercity buses by 4.3 percent, whereas via air transport decreased by 0.4 percent.
