Foreign investment increases in Iran's Qazvin province

More than $57.4 million worth of projects have been approved for investments in Iran's Qazvin province during the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019 - February 19, 2020), said Hedayatollah Jamalipour Governor of Qazvin Province, Trend reports citing official website of Governor.

According to Jamalipour, the amount of planned investment decreased by 1 percent compared to the same period preceding year (March 21, 2018 - February 19, 2019).

Jamalipour added that the amount of capital flowing into the province for 11 months was $1.43 million. This is a decrease of 94.2 percent compared to the same month of the preceding year.

The governor said that Qazvin province took the third place in terms of attracting foreign investment in the last Iranian year and and efforts should be made to increase investment in the current Iranian year (starting March 20, 2020).

Jamalipour said that as many as 54 projects were commissioned with the investment of foreign investors from 1993 to 2019.

"A decision has been approved to invest a total of $1.57 billion in foreign investment in the region. The investment in the province was $556 million," he said.

The governor said that investors from 22 countries are currently investing in Iran's Qazvin province.
