Exports of products via Iran’s Kurdistan province announced

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12

Around 2.34 million tons of products worth $1.33 billion were exported through the customs of Kurdistan province in western Iran in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), Director General of the Kurdistan Province Customs Department Bakhtiar Rahmani said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to Rahmani, exports of products increased by 19 percent in terms of weight, compared to the preceding year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019).

Rahmani added that about 1.26 million tons of exported products worth $700.8 million to the Kurdistan province, some 1.07 million tons worth $638 million belong to other provinces of Iran.

The official said that the products were mainly exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Syria and India through the customs of Kurdistan province.

"More than 40.400 tons of products worth $43.8 million were imported through the customs of this province last Iranian year. Product imports decreased by 4 percent in term of value compared to the preceding year, " he said.

According to official, the products are mainly imported from Iraq, Italy, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Germany.

Rahmani said that 1.08 million tons of products worth $3.4 billion were transited through the customs of Kurdistan province last Iranian year.
