The Iranian government is making all the efforts to implement the 'production leap', that was named for the new Iranian year (started March 20,2020) by the by Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

"The following year would be difficult for many economic activities and hopefully we can reduce the problems," said Hassan Rouhani, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"Despite the coronavirus spread and economical problems, the country will continue production and provide employment for people," he added during a video conference to inaugurate important projects in Fars Province (South Iran).

"The private, public, and military sectors are doing their best, so we hope for several projects to be launched in the current Iranian year (started March 20,2020)," he said.

"The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) created changes and developments in oil, gas, mining, and other industries, including aluminum," Rouhani said during the opening of South Aluminum Corporation in Lamerd city (capital of Lamerd County, Fars Province).

"Iran has improved its rank worldwide in aluminum production, from 18 to 14, and it ranks 10th in steel production, 15th in copper production, all this is very significant," said Rouhani.

The Iranian president has inaugurated four national projects that included the first phase of South Aluminum Complex, the Haj-Heydar 124-bed hospital, Shahid Qasem Soleimani Sports Complex, and the new terminal of Lamerd Airport.

The first phase of the South Aluminum Complex can produce up to 120 tons of ingots a day, which is going to be increased to 300,000 tons a year.
