The Inspectorate for Regulation of Alcohol and Tobacco Market under the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan has issued the first license for wholesale of alcohol products, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan.
The first company to obtain the license was Ellikqala Savdo LLC from Uzbekistan's Karakalpakstan Autonomous Republic.
Earlier, on 20 May, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution, according to which legal entities can obtain a license for wholesale of alcohol products.
Previously, this could only be done by the state, but the restriction was abolished in February last year, when the president signed a decree on improvement of state regulation of production and turnover of alcohol products.
Only legal entities with the authorized capital of at least 1,000 basic settlement units (BSU) are allowed to engage in the wholesale of alcohol. Among the established licensing requirements is the need for strict compliance with technical standards for storage, acceptance and distribution of alcoholic beverages, as well as the availability of appropriate premises.
At the same time, the wholesaler should become a member of the automated information system for accounting of production and turnover of alcohol, tobacco products and ethyl alcohol, as well as use electronic invoices integrated into the information system of the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.
“The fee for reviewing documents is five BSU, license fee - 200 BSU per year. For wholesale beer as well as locally produced natural wines license is not required,” the ministry said.
