Iranian Sefid-Dasht Company’s revenues up

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18

The revenues of Sefid Dasht Steel Company of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province (southwestern Iran) increased 83 percent in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020) compared to the preceding Iranian year, said CEO of the Sefid-Dasht Company Mahmoud Arbabzadeh, Trend reports citing the company’s website

The CEO said that in total, the value of company's sponge iron sales amounted to 14.4 trillion rials (about $342 million) in the last Iranian year.

Arbabzadeh added that the company's sponge iron production increased by 31 percent in the last year compared to the preceding year.

"Last year, Sefid Dasht Steel Company produced 725,000 tons of sponge iron," he said.

The Sefid-Dasht Steel Company produced 72,500 tons of sponge iron in the second month of the current Iranian year (April 20-May 20, 2020). The company produced 70,200 tons of sponge iron in the first month of the current Iranian year (March 20-April 19, 2020).

Around 65 percent of Sefid Dasht steel company's shares belongs to Mobarakeh Steel Company and 35 percent to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

The company is building a plant that will produce 1 million tons of steel a year.
