Kazakhstan has introduced a moratorium on the purchase of cars and furniture for government agencies and national companies for a period of three years, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Finance.
Thus, the ministry continues optimizing budget for this year and for the period till 2023.
The state budget parameters are being adjusted in order to spend budget funds more economically for their more efficient use.
Expenditures worth 532.8 billion tenge ($1.3 billion), which were optimized when updating the state budget for this year, were aimed at combating COVID-19, preventing the negative consequences of the pandemic, as well as supporting citizens and businesses.
In connection with the revision of macroeconomic indicators for the period from 2021 through 2025, the state budget for the period from 2021 through 2023 has also been adjusted.
When determining the spending limits for administrators of budget programs, the limits for new initiatives for the period from 2021 through 2023 were optimized at 6.4 trillion tenge ($15.7 billion) compared to the approved budget.
Furthermore, the ministry is also revisiting public procurement procedures which carried out during the emergency state to determine the risk of inefficient and unreasonable use of budget funds.
