Uzbekistan plans to manufacture 86 new types of import-substituting products in Fergana, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.
This became known during the visit of a working group led by Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov to Fergana region from August 15 through August 18, 2020.
As a result of the working group's activities, additional investment projects were designed providing for production of 42 new types of goods in areas such as mechanical engineering, chemical, pharmaceutical and electrical industries, said the ministry.
It is planned to create 26 clusters in the spheres of sericulture, food, leather, footwear and textile industries as well as for electrical engineering and construction materials production.
"Implementation of these projects will ensure additional budget revenues of 142.1 billion soum [$13.8 million] per year and additional export volumes in the amount of $67.8 million per year. The ministry will take additional measures to bring 1,772 standards and technical regulations in line with international requirements," the message said.
As reported, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan will regularly monitor the implementation of these tasks on a weekly basist.
