Czech Republic's share in Azerbaijan’s total import volume grew from 0.33 percent to 0.49 percent in the first 7 months of 2020, Trend reports on August 24 referring to the statistics bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
According to the committee, over the reporting period, foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Czech Republic amounted to $216.4 million (down 2.07 times compared to the same period of 2019).
Meanwhile, the export of the Azerbaijani products to Czech Republic amounted to $187.3 million against $421.8 million from January through July 2019. Thus, the volume of products purchased by Czech Republic from Azerbaijan was 2.25 times less than in the same period of last year.
Czech Republic’s share in Azerbaijan’s total export volume decreased from 3.44 percent to 2.05 percent.
The import of products from Czech Republic to Azerbaijan edged up by 3.6 percent year-on-year, from $28.04 million to $29.06 million.
Thus, the foreign trade balance of the two countries for the reporting period became positive and amounted to $158.3 million.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $9.1 billion from January through July 2020.
