Iran declares details of products exports

Iran exported more than 38 million tons of products (excluding crude oil, mazut, white oil) worth $10.9 billion during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 20-August 21, 2020), director-general of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mehdi Mirashrafi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

According to him, the exported products were mainly, gasoline, polyethylene, natural gas, liquefied propane gas, other petroleum and petrochemical products.

Mirashrafi also noted that the main product exported by Iran was gasoline during this period amounting to $1 billion.

The director-general added that Iran exported 10.8 million tons of goods worth more than $3 billion to China, and China accounted for 28 percent of Iran's total exports.

Mirashrafi said that Iranian exports to Iraq amounted to 7.8 million tons worth $2.4 billion, which is 22 percent total Iranian exports.

"Iran exported 5.9 million tons of products to the United Arab Emirates worth $1.55 billion. The UAE accounted for 14 percent of Iran's total exports," he added.

According to the director-general, Iran exported 2.6 million tons of goods to Afghanistan worth $871 million, which is 8 percent of Iran's total exports.

“During the same period, Iran exported 1.06 million tons of products to Turkey worth $513 million. Turkey's share in the total exports of Iran amounted to 4.7 percent,” he added.

Mirashrafi also added that Iran's exports decreased by 27 percent in terms of value during the first five months of the current calendar year compared to the same period last year.

Iran's foreign trade turnover totaled more than 53 million tons of goods worth $24.6 billion over five months.
