Turkmenhaly (Turkmen Carpet) State Association’s Serdar Carpet Weaving Enterprise has manufactured products worth 2.3 million Turkmen manat ($654,377) since the beginning of this year, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.
Meanwhile, 2,294 square meters of carpet products have been manufactured at the enterprise in the reporting period.
The number of Turkmen carpet weaving enterprises is rapidly growing in Turkmenistan.
Thus, some 78 percent of construction work of a new carpet enterprise has already been completed in the city of Bayramaly of Turkmenistan’s Mary region.
In addition to the Mary region, the construction of Ceper carpet enterprise is expected to be completed in the Ak-Bugday district of Turkmenistan's Akhal region. Also, carpet enterprises will be opened soon in Turkmenistan's Gubadag district of the Dashoguz region and the Halach district of the Lebap region.
Turkmenhaly state association is the main supplier of renowned Turkmen handmade pure-wool fleecy carpets from Turkmenistan to the world market.
The main activities of the association are production and sales of Turkmen carpets and carpet products, conservation of hand-making tradition of carpets, and restoration of old carpet ornaments and products.
