Port facilities launched in Iran's Hormozgan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 27

As many as 12 maritime and port facilities worth 1.4 trillion rials (about $33.3 million) have been launched in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), Trend reports citing Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran.

Speaking at the event dedicated for launch of the facilities, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Chairman of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) Mohammad Rastad said the commissioned facilities are maritime and port infrastructure, telecommunications and maritime tourism facilities.

Rastad noted that a transit and export terminal, oil storage facilities, and 12 docking platforms for tourist ships have been put into operation in various ports of the Hormozgan coast of Iran.

The deputy minister added 16-20 platforms were put into operation in Shahid Rajaee port, as well as the 4th railway line of the port were repaired.

The chairman stressed 321 people were employed with the launch of these facilities.
