Turkmenistan's Lebap cement plant has started the manufacture of a new type of product - portland cement with mineral additives, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmenportal information portal.
Portland cement with mineral additives is used not only in the construction of general-purposed structures, but also in the construction of objects that are operated under the influence of aggressive environments. The use of cements with mineral additives reduces the likelihood of efflorescence, cracks and other defects in finished products.
Currently the plant produces PS 400 G20 cement, that is, Portland 400 cement with a 20 percent mineral impurity.
Turkmenistan has increased cement production by 20 percent and reduced the cost of its manufacturing by using basalt additives.
Basalt additives were developed by researchers at the Institute of chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
Thus, manufacturers began to enrich the mixture of clinker and gypsum with crushed porphyritic basalt, which is local raw material extracted at the Ufra deposit in the Balkan region.
