Exports of knitwear from Georgia to Turkey down

Georgia exported 940.5 tons of knitted goods to Turkey for a total amount of $28.4 million from January through September 2020, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

On an annualized basis, Georgia reduced the export of knitwear by 353 tons. During the same period of last year, 1,293 tons of knitted goods totaling $27.3 million were exported from Georgia to Turkey.

From January through September 2020, Georgia exported 450.6 tons of men's or boys' suits, ensembles, trousers, knitted or crocheted goods, to Turkey for a total amount of $11.3 million.

In turn, in the reporting period, Georgia imported 1,068 tons of other made up articles, including dress patterns from Turkey for a total amount of $23.08 million.

On an annualized basis, Georgia decreased the import of other made up textile articles, including dress patterns from Turkey by 331 tons. From January through September 2019, 1,399 tons of other made up textile articles, including dress patterns were imported by Georgia from Turkey for a total of $20.8 million.

Turkey ranked first in Georgia’s commodity circulation in the reporting period.

From January through September 2020, total imports from Turkey to Georgia amounted to $981.5 million. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $142.8 million to Turkey.

The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Turkey in the reporting period exceeded $1.1 billion, which is 13.8 percent of Georgia's total trade turnover.
