Kazakhstan increases iron ores production over 9M2020

The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan has amounted to 33.6 million tons from January through September 2020, which is 3.8 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 3.9 million tons in Sept. 2020, which is 2.8 percent more than in Sept. 2019.

Production of copper ores dropped by 12.5 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 80.5 million tons (13.5 million tons in Sept. 2020, increase by 27.6 percent compared to the same month in 2019).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 5.3 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates an increase of 29.3 percent compared to the same period of last year. The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 570,000 tons in Sept. 2020, which is 7.2 percent less in Sept. 2019.

Production of gold ores amounted to 17.8 million tons over the reporting period, which is 2.9 percent less than during the same period of 2019. The volume of gold ores produced in Sept. 2020 was 2.4 million tons, which is 16 percent more than in Sept. 2019.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 4.5 million tons, which is 2.6 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (518,300 tons in Sept. 2020, increase by 0.5 percent compared to Sept. 2019).

As reported, production of manganese ores amounted to 509,100 tons, which is 45.9 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (72,400 tons in Sept. 2020, decrease by 27.1 percent compared to Sept. 2019).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 4.8 million tons, which is 8.1 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (532,900 tons in Sept. 2020, decrease by 8.8 percent compared to Sept. 2019).
