Turkmenistan increases imports of dried legumes from EAEU countries

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 27

The export of dried leguminous vegetables to Turkmenistan from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) from January through August of 2020 increased by 17.4 percent, compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the Eurasian Economic Commission.

In particular, 2,142 tons of dried leguminous vegetables were exported to Turkmenistan for a total of $975,408, which is also 55.6 percent more than the amount of exports in the same period last year.

The exporting countries were Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Thus, the share of Kazakhstan in the total export of dried legumes to Turkmenistan was $788,129, Kyrgyzstan-$52,672, and Russia – $134,606.

According to statistics, during the specified period, Russia exported over 4 tons of frozen vegetables to Turkmenistan, totaling $7,018.

Also, more than a ton of dried vegetables were exported from Russia to Turkmenistan for a total of $3,338.
