The volume of products made in the Keles district of the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan amounted to 49.1 billion tenge ($110 million), which is by 113.6 percent or 5.9 billion tenge ($1 million) more than in the same period of last year, the district’s head Akmentay Yesbayev said.
Yesbayev made the remark during a briefing at the Regional Communications Service on the 9-month work results, Trend reports referring to Kazinform News Agency.
According to him, 70.7 percent of the above figure accounted for the agricultural sector, and the target for the tax and other revenues in the local budget was fulfilled by 110 percent.
"The volume of products in the field of agriculture in the region amounted to 34.7 billion tenge ($80 million), which is up by 105.6 percent compared to the same period of last year. Meantime, it should be noted that the number of cattle reached 71,300 heads, horses – 22,400 heads, sheep – 397,900 heads, poultry – 39,800 heads and camels - 400 heads,” he said. “As a result, 10.5 tons of meat, 41,200 tons of milk, and 2,300 tons of eggs. In agriculture, the sown areas have been expanded by 24,300 hectares and increased by 800 hectares. As a result, 12,200 tons of products were made.”
Besides, as the district’s head noted, in the field of entrepreneurship within the framework of the Industrial-Innovative Development program, it’s planned to implement 3 projects worth 998.4 million tenge ($2.32 million).
Last year, the cost of one project was implemented for a total of 100 million tenge ($2.3 million), and 15 new jobs were opened. Moreover, 1 large project worth 250 million tenge (5.8 million) was launched, Yesbayev said.
The unemployment rate in the district made up 4.8 percent. Under the Employment Roadmap 2020 program, 75 unemployed citizens and 51 people with disabilities were employed, he added.
