Uzbekistan starts legumes export to Thailand

Uzbekistan and Thailand concluded a contract for the supply of legumes to Thailand, Trend reports with reference to Dunyo information agency.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Thailand provided assistance to Global Export leading exporter of fruit and vegetable products of Uzbekistan for the first time to conclude a contract for the supply of legumes to Thailand by the end of 2020 in the amount of $1 million.

The volume of legumes exported from Uzbekistan in November this year in value terms amounted to $260,000.

Deliveries of the entire contract volume are expected by the end of this year, and the parties have already expressed their readiness to sign a new agreement for the supply of up to 1,000 tons of products of the new crop of 2021.

Representatives of the Thai business believe that the excellent taste and compliance with the standards for sizing and packaging of Uzbek agricultural products have good chances to expand the range of supplies to the Thai market in the coming years.

Earlier it was reported that legumes took the third place in the list of fruit and vegetable products exported from Uzbekistan over the past nine months. The legumes export from Uzbekistan in value terms for 9M2020 amounted to $82.1 million.
