Kazakhstan's overall agriculture output surges

Kazakhstan’s agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output amounted to 5.39 trillion tenge ($12.6 billion) over ten months of 2020, which is 5.2 percent more compared to the same period of the last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Some 5.37 trillion tenge ($12.5 billion) accounted for agriculture alone including 3.2 trillion ($7.6 billion) accounting for plant growing, and 2.08 trillion tenge ($4.8 billion) - for animal husbandry.

The increase in the agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output during the reporting period was due to the increase of plant growing volume by 7.1 percent, slaughter volumes of livestock and poultry in live weight by 3.7 percent, and yield of raw cow's milk by 3.1 percent.

Almaty region leads by the total value of agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output, which reached 769.9 billion tenge ($1.7 billion) over ten months of 2020, showing a 1.7-percent increase compared to the same period of 2019.

This includes 436.6 billion tenge ($1.01 billion) worth of plant growing output and 328.1 billion tenge ($766.4 million) of animal husbandry output.

Second and third places accounted for North Kazakhstan and Turkestan regions.

The value of agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output in the North Kazakhstan region amounted to 700.8 billion tenge ($1.6 billion), which is 3 percent more than during the same period of last year.

This includes 543.9 billion tenge ($1.2 billion) worth of plant growing output and 153.9 billion tenge ($359.5 million) of animal husbandry output.

In turn, agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output in the Turkestan region amounted to 635.2 billion tenge ($1.4 billion), which is 1.8 percent more than during the same period of 2019. This includes 389.5 billion tenge ($909.9 million) worth of plant growing output and 242.6 billion tenge ($566.7 million) of animal husbandry output.

An increase in agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output was observed in all 14 Kazakh regions during the reporting period.
