Toyota leads re-exported vehicle brand from Georgia

A total of 2, 081 transport means of 45 various brands were re-exported from Georgia during October 2020, Trend reports via Georgian media.

Out of them, Japanese Toyota is the most popular vehicle brand sharing over 15 percent of the re-export car market. When it comes to color, gray is all the rage.

The total number of re-exported vehicles from Georgia during Oct 2020 has dropped by 637 units or 23.4 percent as compared to September 2020, when the number stood at 2, 718.

Out of a total of 2,081 transport means, Toyota is the most demanded brand on re-export, counting 315 units during Oct 2020. Japanese automotive manufacturer has been followed by German Opel, with 254 units, South Korean Hyundai – 208, German Volkswagen – 202, American Ford – 191, South Korean Kia – 155, American Chevrolet – 138 and German Mercedes-Benz – 130.

As for the colors of the vehicles, gray has been the trendiest one, with 813 units. It has been followed by white – 411, black – 363, blue – 261, and red - 111. The major share or 188 units of re-exported vehicles were released in 2016. The number of vehicles released in 2015 was 183 and in 2014 - 180 units.

As for the re-exported vehicles released in 2020, the number was 47.

Pursuant to TBC Capital’s recent market watch for the automotive sector, in 9M2020, the imports and exports (USD) of light vehicles in Georgia fell by 31 percent and 37 percent, respectively.
