The value of foreign trade turnover of ferrous metal products in Azerbaijan as of early November 2020 made up $507.1 million, which is $31.4 million or 5.8 percent less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
According to the bulletin, from Jan. through Oct. this year the ferrous metal products worth $19.5 million were exported by Azerbaijan, up by $3.4 million or 3.4 percent year on year. The products’ share in a total volume of export to Azerbaijan reached 0.16 percent compared to 0.1 percent last year.
In the reporting period, the value of ferrous metal products’ import to Azerbaijan decreased by $34.8 million (6.7 percent) on an annualized basis, reaching $487.6 million. Their share in a total volume of imports to the country made up 5.56 percent compared to 4.56 percent in 2019.
Meanwhile, the foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan made up over $21 billion, which is 25.7 percent less compared to the same period of 2019. Of this amount, more than $12.2 billion or 58.25 percent accounted for export, and the remaining $8.8 billion or 41.75 percent – for import.
