Russia discloses volumes of agricultural products supplied to Georgia

Some 935,500 tons of Russian agricultural products were supplied to Georgia from Russia for 11 months of 2020, Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) told Trend.

According to the source, 69,900 tons of agricultural products were sent from Russia to Georgia in November.

"Mainly wheat and meslin were supplied to Georgia (46,100 tons), as well as corn (4,300 tons) and cake (2,290 tons)," the Rosselkhoznadzor notes.

Some 685,800 tons of Russian agricultural products were supplied to Georgia from Russia for eight months of 2020. According to Rosselkhoznadzor, 139,900 tons of agricultural products were sent from Russia to Georgia in August.

"Mainly wheat (116,500 tons) was delivered to Georgia, as well as corn (7,800 tons) and barley (2,800 tons)," the Rosselkhoznadzor notes.

From January through October 2020, the foreign trade turnover between Georgia and Russia exceeded $1.06 billion, which comprises 11.6 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.

During the reporting period, Georgia exported products worth $351.1 million to the Russian market, which is 12.9 percent of total exports.

Meanwhile, Russian exported products worth $709.87 million to the Georgian market, which is 11 percent of total imports to Georgia.
