Central Bank of Azerbaijan reveals country's 9M2020 foreign trade turnover figures

Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover made up $17.2 billion over the first nine months of 2020, Trend reports citing the reporting data of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the data, the country's oil and gas sector has a surplus of $7.2 billion and a deficit of $4.8 billion in the non-oil sector.

"Eventually, a surplus of $2.4 billion was formed in Azerbaijan's foreign trade balance, which shows an annual decrease of 2.9 times," the report reads.

"During 9M2020, Azerbaijan had trade relations with 186 countries of the world. Some 16 percent of the foreign trade operations were carried out with the CIS member states, 84 percent - with other foreign countries," stressed the CBA report.

To remind, from January through September 2020, the total deficit of the balance of payments of Azerbaijan amounted to $1.8 billion.
