Share of Georgian domestic exports shows increase

Share of the domestic exports in total Georgian export constituted 72.4 percent from January through November 2020 and amounted to $2.18 billion, Trend reports referring to National Statistics Office (Geostat).

As reported, this is 4.5 percent higher than in the same period of 2019.

Domestic exports include the export of goods produced in the country, as well as imported from abroad, the value of which has significantly changed as a result of domestic processing.

From January through November 2020 the exports of Georgia (excluding non-declared exports) equaled $3.01 billion, 11.3 percent lower year-on-year.

In the reporting period, the share of the top ten trading partners by domestic exports in the total domestic exports of Georgia amounted to 79.1 percent. The top partners were China ($431.2 million), Russia ($360.3 million), and Bulgaria ($281 million).

From January through November 2020 copper ores and concentrates reclaimed the first place in the list of top export items, equaling $677.2 million, or 31 percent of total exports.

The exports of ferroalloys totaled $231 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 10.6 percent. The exports of the wine of fresh grapes occupied the third-place standing at $185.3 million and constituting 8.5 percent of the total exports.
