Copper ores and concentrates reclaimed the first place in the list of top Georgian export items from January through November 2020 in Georgia, equaling $677.2 million or 22.4 percent of total exports, Trend reports referring to National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The exports of motor cars totaled $364.8 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 12.1 percent.
The ferro-alloys exports occupied the third place standing at $231.6 million and constituting 7.7 percent of the total exports
The top import commodities from January through November 2020 were motor cars whose imports equaled $680.7 million (9.5 percent of the total imports). The copper ores and concentrates followed in the list with $494.2 million or 6.9 percent of imports.
The petroleum and petroleum oils were third in the top import commodity list with $451 million (6.3 percent of imports).
The external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $10.20 billion from January through November 2020, 14.6 percent lower to the same period of 2019.
The exports equaled $3.01 billion (11.3 percent lower), while the imports stood at $7.18 billion (15.9 percent lower). The negative trade balance was $4.16 billion from January through November 2020 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 40.9 percent.
