Kazakhstan to focus on measures to increase SMEs share in GDP

In order to support and stimulate entrepreneurial activity, measures will be implemented to expand opportunities for the growth and development of SMEs, ensure a healthy competitive environment, and denationalize the economy will be taken in Kazakhstan, Trend reports citing the press office of the government.

The measures will be taken within the framework of the country’s National Development Plan.

As a result of the measures taken the share of SMEs in the overall country’s GDP will increase to 35 percent. The share of the state in the economy will be reduced to 14 percent. As a result of further improvement of the business environment, Kazakhstan will be among the top 20 countries with the most favorable conditions for doing business in the world.

The most important priority in regards to the foreign economic policy will be the proactive and targeted attraction of investments, as well as the promotion of Kazakh exports. Work will be carried out to form a new investment cycle, as well as to integrate into global and regional chains of added value.

The level of investment in fixed assets will grow to 30 percent of GDP by 2025; the volume of direct foreign investments will go up to $30 billion per year. Non-commodity exports will double to $41 billion. Quality economic growth will be ensured by maintaining fiscal stability and implementing an effective monetary policy, as well as developing a competitive and efficient financial market.

As a result of the measures taken, the inflation rate will drop to 3-4 percent. In order to ensure balanced territorial development, new approaches will be introduced aimed at unlocking the potential and strengthening the competitiveness of the regions.

All residents of the country will have access to water supply services. All republican and local roads to each support village will be reconstructed and repaired. The commissioning of 103 million square meters of housing and the modernization of more than 3,500 villages will be provided for.

As a result of the implementation of the National Development Plan of the country will gravitate more towards sustainable and high-quality economic growth of more than 5 percent by 2025. The purchasing power parity per capita GDP will reach up to $40,000. Outstripping growth rates of labor productivity of 8 percent per year will be ensured.

Kazakhstan will be among the top 50 countries in the world in terms of the rule of law and the efficiency of public administration, as well as in the top 30 countries in the digital competitiveness rating.

Progress will be made in educational attainment in core academic disciplines. In addition, the Ministry of National Economy, together with the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms, will develop a Key Indicators Map. It will include an expanded list of indicators, decomposed by spheres, industries, regions, with the assignment of responsible state bodies.
