Mineral deposits will be commissioned by auction for the first time in Azerbaijan, Trend reports on Feb.16 referring to a source in the Ministry of Economy.
According to the source, in this regard, an agreement was reached between the Center for Auctions under the State Property Service under the Ministry of Economy and the State Agency for the Use of Mineral Resources under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
The source said that the purpose of the agreement is to expand the competitive economic environment in the regions based on the principles of sustainable development, as well as the formation of an environmental safety system that ensures the efficient use of natural resources and reliable environmental protection.
At the initial stage, it’s planned to commission the fields located in Aghjabadi, Beylagan, Goranboy, Goygol, Gazakh, and Tovuz districts by auction. Along with this, after the revaluation of the mineral deposits available in the territories liberated from the Armenian occupation (during the 44-day war in autumn 2020), according to the legislation, are also planned to be commissioned through an auction.
Detailed information on the auction terms and the mineral deposits, to be commissioned through it, will be published on the official website of the State Property Service (emlak.gov.az) and on the privatization.az portal.
