Georgia reveals volume of domestic exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb.19

Georgia exported locally produced goods worth $224.4 million in January 2021, which is 16.2 percent lower year-on-year, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

The share of domestic exports (export of locally produced goods and services, including those of foreign origin that have been substantially changed through local processing) in total exports constituted 74.1 percent and amounted to $166.4 million, 6.4 percent lower to January 2020.

The top trading partners were:

Bulgaria ($26.7 million)
China ($25.3 million)
Turkey ($20.6 million)

From January through June 2020 copper ores and concentrates reclaimed first place in the list of top export items, equaling $332.4 million, or 30.8 percent of total exports.

In January 2021 copper ores and concentrates reclaimed first place in the list of top export items, equalling $49.7 million, or 29.9 percent of total exports.

The exports of ferroalloys totaled $23.3 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 14 percent. The exports of natural or artificial mineral and aerated waters occupied the third-place standing at $8.8 million and constituting 5.3 percent of the total exports.
