Iran is expected to increase its handicraft export soon after the improvement of its relations with other countries, said the Chief of Staff of the President of Iran.
"The Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism has various plans to revive traditional arts. The products have good quality and beauty that would certainly attract other countries," said Mahmoud Vaezi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"Iran's relation with other countries would be expanded and sanctions would be lifted soon and we hope to witness country's handicraft export via cyberspace," he said during his visit to the fifth edition of the Fajr International Handicrafts Exhibition.
"The government concern during past 7 and half years was to create job and the handicraft industry can create a job with little investment and cyberspace helps the sale of products that the government supports," he said.
Iran exported $427 million worth of handicrafts during the first eleven months of the past Iranian year (started March 21, 2019). Iran’s handicrafts exports reached $289 million in the year 2018, showing three percent growth year on year, based on data released by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
