Georgia’s foreign direct investment amounted to $616.9 million in 2020 that is 52.9 percent less than in 2019.
The National Statistical Office names the transfer of several businesses to the Georgian resident as the main reason for the decline decreasing the FDI amount by $340.5 million.
The largest volume of FDI flow in the area of finance amounting to $400.3 million that is 64.9 percent of total FDI. The mining industry with $101.5 million in the second, in the third place is the real estate sector with $71.8 million.
