The value of industrial products produced in the Chabahar Free Trade Zone in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran) increased five times over the last Iranian year (March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021), compared to seven years ago, the Managing Director of Chabahar Free Trade Zone Abdolrahim Kordi told IRNA, Trend reports.
According to the director, this figure is 6 trillion rials (about $142 million), at present. However, the value of industrial products produced in the zone was about 1.24 trillion rials (about $29.5 million) 7 years ago.
Kordi added that the value of the investments made in the Chabahar Free Trade Zone was 25 trillion rials (about $595 million) in the last Iranian year. In addition, the number of expenses on launched facilities was 9.3 trillion rials (about $221 million). As a result, exports from the Chabahar Free Trade Zone have doubled.
“Moreover, 11 trillion rials (about $261 million) was spent on the transit and transport infrastructures in the Chabahar Free Trade Zone,” he said.
