A unit of the Gol-Gohar Industrial and Mining Company's primary processing and pelletizing plant No. 2 in the Kerman Province (southeastern Iran) has been put into operation today on Apr. 1, the executive director of the company Iman Atighi said, Trend reports citing the IRNA.
He made the remark in an event dedicated to the launch of several industrial and mining facilities in Iran.
According to him, this unit will process 4,200 tons of iron ore per hour, 15 million tons per year, and produce pellets in this volume.
The director added that 35 million euro and 890 billion rials (about $21.1 million) was spent on this unit.
Atighi noted that 90 people were employed with the launch of the unit.
"The pellets produced in the unit will be transported to the concentrate plant of Gol-Gohar Company," he said.
On April 1, several industrial and mining facilities were put into operation in five provinces of Iran. More than 45 trillion rials (about $1.07 billion) have been spent on these facilities.
