The average cotton yield in the Azerbaijan Agjabadi district amounted to 35.44 centners per hectare in 2020, Trend reports citing the Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation.
According to the corporation, 37,880 tons of cotton were produced in the Agjabadi district last year.
“Cotton growers of Agjabadi aim to increase production in 2021 as well. This year, it is planned to plant cotton on an area of about 10,615 hectares in the district. In this regard, the manufacturers signed contracts with Azerpambig LLC, MKT Istehsal Kommersiya LLC and P-Agro LLC,” the message noted.
“Preparations for the cotton season have been completed in all farms of the district. The focus was on the correct and consistent adherence to agrotechnical requirements to obtain high-quality yields, the corporation added.
“This year, high-quality cotton varieties brought by the processing enterprises of the district will be grown in the fields. Tractors, seeding machines and other technical means have been mobilized for sowing work,” noted the message.
