Iran's bitumen exports decrease

Iran's bitumen exports decreased by 25 percent in terms of value and increased by 4.41 percent in terms of volume in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021), compared to the preceding Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, through March 19, 2020), Trend reports citing the statistics of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to the statistics, 4.36 million tons of bitumen worth $825 million were exported from Iran last Iranian year.

The bitumen exports accounted for 2.36 percent of Iran's total exports in terms of value and 3.84 percent in terms of volume, the statistics said.

“While in the preceding Iranian year, Iran exported 4.18 million tons of bitumen worth $1.1 billion,” the statistics said.

Some 10 products worth $13.7 billion accounted for 39 percent of Iran's total exports worth about $35 billion over last Iranian year.

Iran's total foreign trade turnover amounted to about 146 million tons worth $73 billion in the last Iranian year. During this period, Iran exported 112 million tons of goods worth about $35 billion and imported 33.4 million tons worth $38.4 billion.
