Lexus Tbilisi unable to meet demand for cars on local market

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Lexus’ official representation in Georgia can’t meet the demand and bring sufficient number of cars into the country, said Shalva Tsikhelashvili, Sales and Marketing Manager at Lexus Tbilisi, Trend reports via Georgian media.

According to him, for this reason, all Lexus cars officially imported to Georgia have been sold until July inclusive. They have only 4 cars for sale, two of which already have owners.

"We have had a shortage of cars for a long time, the demand is great, but we cannot solve the supply problem. All the cars we brought are already sold. The fact is that the factory cannot provide a sufficient number of vehicles. Production was halted for a while and now supplies cars to countries that have a larger shortage. We have four cars in our showroom, two of them have been sold," he noted.

As he noted, the price of cars ranges from $35,000 to $118,000. The most expensive car sold during the pandemic - LEXUS LX570 - cost $113,700.

"We do not know what will be next year or the rest of the year, it all depends on the factory. They are monitoring the distribution statistics in the country and will make deliveries according to this,” said Tsikhelashvili.
