Azerbaijan’s import of pharmaceutical products increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 13

Azerbaijan imported pharmaceutical products worth $113.2 million from January through March 2021, which is by almost 33 percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports on May 13 with reference to the statistics report of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

According to the State Customs Committee, the share of pharmaceutical products in the total structure of Azerbaijani import in the reporting period amounted to 4.47 percent.

Azerbaijan exported these products worth $279,000 from January through March 2021.

At the same time, the export of pharmaceutical products compared to the same period of 2020 decreased by six percent.

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to about $ 6.7 billion from January through March 2021, which is by 2.6 percent less than in the same period of last year.

Some $4.1 billion in the structure of foreign trade turnover accounted for export, decreasing by 1.6 percent on an annualized basis.

The share of export for the year decreased by 0.53 percent up to 61.47 percent of the total volume.
