Iran shares data on its trade turnover through Mazandaran Province customs

Iran’s trade turnover through the customs of Mazandaran Province amounted to 670,000 tons worth about $215 million during the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2021), Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

According to the report, 254,000 tons of goods worth about $37 million were exported through the customs of Mazandaran Province within the two months. The exports increased by 26 percent in terms of value and 109 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“So, $10.9 million worth of dairy products, $6.56 million worth of rubber products, $5.87 million worth of various food products, $3.4 million worth of cement, $1.47 million worth of wood materials were mainly exported through customs of Mazandaran Province,” the report said.

These products were mainly exported to Iraq, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Romania, Afghanistan, the UAE and other countries, the report said.

In addition, 416,000 tons of goods worth about $178 million were imported through the customs of Mazandaran Province in two months. The imports increased by 5 percent in terms of value, according to the report.

“The goods were imported from 16 countries, including the UAE, Russia, Turkey, Switzerland, Britain, Kazakhstan, Germany and others,” the report said.

The imported goods were mainly animal feed worth $58.3 million, various animal fats and oils worth $38.6 million, equipment and spare parts worth $28 million, corn feed worth $27 million, and wheat worth $13.3 million, the report said.

According to the report, the Mazandaran Province customs revenues amounted about 397 billion rials (about $9.44 million) over the two months.

“Moreover, 29,500 tons of goods worth $22.4 million were transited through these customs to the free trade zones of Pakistan, the UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan and Iran,” the report said.
