The project entitled "Support to Youth Entrepreneurship" being funded by the European Union and being implemented by the Azerbaijan Micro-finance Association (AMFA) in cooperation with the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan, will be completed in late June 2021, Executive Director of AMFA Jale Hajiyeva told Trend.
"AMFA has implemented two projects being funded by the EU," Hajiyeva added.
"The first project was entitled "Accelerating the development of sustainable micro-entrepreneurship in rural regions of Azerbaijan"," the executive director added. "The project was successfully completed this year."
The executive director emphasized that the project "Supporting Women's Entrepreneurship during COVID-19" in Ismayilli district was completed in March 2021.
Microfinance has been used in Azerbaijan since the mid-1990s. The International Non-Governmental Organization began offering microfinance services to low-income layers of the population in 1996.
The members of the International Non-Governmental Organization decided to officially formalize the group as an association that will act as a coordination microfinance center in Azerbaijan in December 2001.
