Number of licensed mines in Iran announced

As many as 23 mines were licensed in Iran to be launched in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.

According to the statistics, the number of launched mines decreased by 4.2 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. While in the same month last Iranian year, 24 mines were licensed in Iran to be launched.

"A total of 306 people were employed as a result of the launch of these mines in Iran during the first month. This is an increase of 31.9 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 232 people were employed in Iran in the same month last Iranian year," the statistics said.

In addition, 21 mines were licensed in Iran to be explored over the 1st month of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 61.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, licenses were issued for the exploration of 13 mines in the country in the same month last Iranian year, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, a total of 53 billion rials (about $1.26 million) is to be spent on the licensed mines for exploration within the first month. This means 108 percent more than in the same month last Iranian year. So, about 26 billion rials (about $619,000) were to be spent in connection with the exploration of mines in the country over the same month last Iranian year.
