The export of goods from Azerbaijan to Switzerland in total terms amounted to $68.2 million from January through April 2021 increasing by 40.7 percent compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports on June 7 with reference to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
Switzerland's share in Azerbaijan's total export volume reached 1.07 percent compared to 0.77 percent as of early May 2020.
Moreover, during the reporting period, the import of Swiss products to Azerbaijan amounted to about $24 million while Switzerland's share in Azerbaijan's total import volume decreased by 0.15 percentage points for the year, amounting to 0.68 percent of the total volume.
The volume of foreign trade operations between the two countries as of early May 2021 exceeded $92 million, while the foreign trade balance of Azerbaijan with Switzerland remained positive for the reporting year, amounting to $44.2 million.
In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover as of early May 2021 amounted to almost $9.9 billion. Some $6.4 billion of that volume (64.33 percent) accounted for export while $3.5 billion (35.67 percent) accounted for import.
