The exports from the Genaveh port of the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) increased 30 times in value terms during the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2021), Director General of the Genaveh Port Customs Office Babak Mohammadi told IRNA, Trend reports.
The director-general noted that about 2,630 tons of various glass products used in the construction worth about $430,000 were exported to Qatar within the mentioned period.
Mohammadi added that over the two months, the imports through the Genaveh port increased by 16 percent in terms of value, while decreased by 19 percent in terms of volume. Thus, 3,080 tons of goods worth $12.2 million were imported.
“The imported goods were spare parts for equipment, glassware, and so on,” he said.
The director-general emphasized that customs revenues of the Genaveh and Rig ports totaled 212 billion rials (about $5.05 million) in the two months.
According to him, furthermore, 1,170 tons of maritime goods worth about $7 million were imported in two months. The imports increased by 32 times in terms of value, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
