The Kyrgyz-Turkmen Development Fund will be created with an authorized capital of $100 million, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan.

The fund will be created to support joint business projects, the report said.

In addition to the fund, a Kyrgyz-Turkmen trading house in Bishkek and a health complex with a five-star hotel in the Issyk-Kul region will be built.

The corresponding agreement was reached during the meeting of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, carried out within the framework of Zhaparov's official visit to Turkmenistan.

The trade turnover between the countries increased by 15-30 percent in 2020, compared to 2019, and amounted to $11.7 million.

According to the plan, the trade turnover between the countries should grow by 10-20 percent in the near future.

As reported, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan are interested in expanding partnerships in the fields of energy and industry, textile industry, trade, and others.

Tourism, transport, logistics, and agriculture were also identified as promising areas of cooperation.

Turkmenistan supplies fresh tomatoes, bakery and flour products, textiles, and pipes to Kyrgyzstan. In turn, Kyrgyzstan exports lamps, plastic films and tapes, and machinery for the textile industry to Turkmenistan.
